missing component

My boot time scan component shows as "Not Installed" I have uninstalled and reinstalled as per AVG directions but it is still missing. Also when updating the virus definition program, it doesn't update the last updated indicator.

Does the progress bar stays at 0% when you start the installation of boot time scan?

Hi Richard.
We're here to help. Could you share a screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of both issues?

Thank you for the screenshot.

It will show as "Not Installed", please click on "Boot time scan" and in the next window you will get an option to enable this option.

Enable that option to run "Boot Time Scan".

It never gives me that choice. As soon as I click on the boot time scan from the home page this is what comes up. The 4 square logo cycles its gif cycle but it stays at this display. There is no ability to turn it on or proceed from this position.

If I close the window that is represented in screenshot2, this is what I get when I try to reopen the boot time scan
