AVG 2015 Free won't install on Windows 10

After installeing WIndows 10 Enterprise Insider Preview Build 10162, I noticed that my AVG wasn't running. I tried to reinstall from a fresh download of AVG 2015 Free but, after doing the resart asked for by the installer, I got the following error:
"
! Installation Failed
Severity: Error
Error Message: General Internal Error.
Additional message: MSI Engine: Failed to install the product.
@AVGMSI_Error 27054
Installation failed. (0C00x70424)
Context: AVG product installation, MSI action failed
"
I then ran the installer as Administrator but got the same error.

Anyone else having the same issue?

Aidan, According to this webpage (http://free.avg.com/ww-en/avg-release-notes) it's compatible with version 6030 onwards.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for your speedy reply.

I am assuming that by downloading the installation file from AVG, I am getting the most up to date version, including any fixes required and, there, a later version than 6030.

Am I right?

Hi Aidan, as mentioned by Alan, AVG is compatible with Windows 10. Get the latest installer file from http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download-free-all-product. Select correct version 32 or 64 bit offline installer depending on your system and download it to install AVG.

But before that run AVG Remover Tool available at: http://www.avg.com/utilities. Run the tool and wait for the process to complete. When prompted restart your PC.

Now try to install AVG using the setup file you downloaded. Thanks.

Aidan, Correct.. Presently the latest is actually version 6081.

Hi Lads,

Your support is great but this text editor is c**p (to use a technical term!). There is no veticle scroll bar and backspace destruct, of even forward arrow past the last character entered, makes the whole navigate to the previous page and all typing is lost. This is the 4th time I've had to type and I am terrified of editing anything I have typed (zoikes!)

Anyway, to be brief, I had to run the Removal Tool in Safe Mode to get it to work. I then restarted into Normal Mode and the AVG Installer worked a treat.

Thanks for your great support. I am an IT Professional and I always reccommend AVG products. I can now highlight the great support as well.

Thanks again,

Aidan

Hello, I've had the same problem when I'm trying to install AVG Protection Free, I got an error that says: "AVG Installation Failed", "Description: Event exec_finished". I've tried to run the removal tool and install it again, but it just doesn't work. Can anyone help me?

Hello Sam,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Have you received anyother error code along with this error message?
Is there any other Antivirus program or AVG program installed on your system? If so, please try to uninstall it and install AVG Free.
Thank you.

Hello G,

Sorry to know that you are getting this error for AVG free installation.
Do you get as "Description: event exec finished" error along with this code 0xC0070643?
Do you have any other third party antivirus program installed on your PC?
