GNS3 seems blocking by AVG.

Dear AVG Team,

Can someone help me why GNS3 is not working. I'm sharing the error message on below.
"Error while getting VMs. Cannot connect to local server http://127.0.0.1:3080.
Please check if GNS3 is allowed in you antivirus and firewall."

Thank you and appreciate your prompt response.

Mohaliden, thank you for confirming that the issue has been resolved after disabling AVG protection.

Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Network Profile and change it to Private.
Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Policies->System Rules and set all rules to "Enabled".

Make sure the above settings are applied and let us know if the issue persists.

Hi Mohaliden,

We will certainly check this for you.

Are you getting this error message after installing AVG program or after updating your windows?

Please let us know since when you are experiencing this issue to check from our end.

What happens when you turn off AVG protection? Is GNS3 working after disabling AVG protection?

Please follow the below steps to temporarily disable AVG protection:

1. Right-click the AVG icon in the system tray next to the clock.
2. Move the slider to temporarily disable AVG.

@Avinash - The solution you provided is great. There's an alternate solution to this as well when your network profile is set to Public.
AVG Internet Security > General > Exceptions:
-- Add Npcap and GNS3 folders
Note: Automatic AVG automatic scanning and shield protection will be excluded; however, a manual scan will scan the folders if necessary.

Hi Sagiv,

AVG AntiVirus Free will give the basic protection which prevents viruses, spyware, and other malicious threats from infecting your PC.

To avail the advanced features and complete protection(including firewall component), we recommend you to upgrade to a paid version.
