AVG notification of trojan horse

All of a sudden I am getting a pop up message from AVG that multiple...all the same... trojan horse have been detected and secured.  At the top of the notification I am asked what action needs to be taken...but there are no options.  Upon closing the message it pops back up within seconds.  It only pops up on the home page.  What needs to be done?  Windows 7.  AVG is up-to-date.

I have the very same problem today as well but I don't have Repair to show up when I followed the steps from the link you gave, only Change or Uninstall.  Another option?
P MP M
I just got off with Live Chat tech, he helped me clear my temp files from my browser, he went to www.avg.com/tools#tba2 and he said I could use AVG Auto Exe.  Go by file where the virus is at (I use the AVG Internet Security version, went to Options, then Virus Vault, then expand the box to see the details of the file), Then he used RUN to find the file and/or %temp% to find temp files in my computer. He said it's deleted and everything looks good with the software.  So far so good....hope this helps.
P MP M
Almost forgot, sorry....only other option I was given was to Uninstall then Re-install my AVG, but I was leery of the trojan, so the tech went to the above method.

I don't have the repair option either.  I clean temp files regularly, after every internet session.  Since I pay for AVG, I don't really want to pay for tech support.  Is there anything, step by step, that I can do on my own?

Hello Bays,

Shortly after my paid version of AVG updated this afternoon, I also started getting continual alerts (every second or two) of a Trojan Horse Exploit.SWF_c.BAC that was 'secured".  I went into my AVG program and could not find any reports of this virus being found/secured.  I called tech support and gave them remote access to my computer.  They told me that were, in fact, virus(es) on my computer, telling me that I would have to pay for the virus removal.  After much conversation, I agreed to pay for an upgrade to AVG Ultimate  and removal of he virus(es).  After about 3 hours, they told me my computer was clean.  The removed AVG Pro and installed Ultimate. I opened my browser and all appeared okay.  After disconnecting with them, I closed the browser and re-opened it.  The Trojan Horse alert began again. And, it appears to only happen when I am at my Home Page in Firefox.  Did they not remove the virus(es) or is this a repeat of the issue you had some time ago with false-positives?  I need this resolved!

Do not follow Kishore comments re fixing AVG. I followed the link and did as suggested. When my laptop restarted I had lost every file and system had reset to factory settings.
Suggest Kishore is not AVG Customer Care.......

David, You can rest assured that Kishore (AVG Technologies) is a member of the official AVG Customer Support. Didn't you see the last posting about this being a known issue?.

Alan ..Yes I did note this as a known issue, I also noted his comment to BAYS, re, avgclick.me/RepairAVG. This I did and have lost over 500 music files, videos, books and photographs because by following this link my system reset its factory settings.
Suggest Kishore removes his comment re the link before any other user follows it, and unlike me, may not have backed up files to external hard drive.
I am damn annoyed and have removed AVG and gone elsewhere...............

Kishore,

If this is a known issue, why did your tech support in the Phillipines last night not know about it?  They convinced me that I had a very serious Trojan Horse virus that needed immediate attention, further convincing me that I had to pay them to fix it.  In reality, there was nothing I needed to pay for to be fixed. It was an AVG software issue that appears to have been corrected after I updated the software this morning. How do I get my money back for being misled by tech support last evening?

Hello Bill,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Could you please provide the phone number that you used to contact AVG support, so that we can check it and confirm whether it is our legitimate one?
Bill MBill M
I believe that I called 1-844-234-6038.  At the end of the chat session and remote access, they called me from 949-867-4422.  I also have a case # if that is helpful.
Balasubramanian SBalasubramanian S (Avast)
Thank you for providing the phone number.
The reason for asking the phone number is to confirm that it is our AVG GO premium support.
This phone number is 1-844-234-6038 for contacting our "AVG GO" premium support to fix any issues for your PC's that is the reason they cost you more money.
For any issues, related to your AVG legacy licensed products you have to reach our technical support via https://support.avg.com/support_contact_form?l=&retUrl=support_sales to get it resolved.
Thank you for asking about the case reference, from our end we couldn't view any details regarding AVG GO support, it is a separate team and if any issues regarding it you have to contact them again and provide the case reference.
This “Trojan horse Exploit.SWF_c.BAC” threat is a bug and our developers are working on it and it will get fixed in the next update.
Your patience is much appreciated.

@ Bill M
Bill, Case # would probably be useful for Balasubramanian (AVG Technologies).

Yes, Bill, please also provide the case reference so that I can decide what can be done from my end.

Balasubramanian,

Case # is 201602262336314.  I called AVG GO support a short time ago and was told that a "refund specialist" would contact me in 3-5 busines days.  Hopefully I will get that call and they will make this right.  Anything you can do to support my request would be appreciated.
Balasubramanian SBalasubramanian S (Avast)
Thank you for providing the case reference.
As I said earlier it is totally a different team and we can't locate any records, using this reference we couldn't pull up any details.
We really appreciate that you called the AVG GO support again.
You will surely get the call regarding the refund.
Thank you so much for understanding.

I also had this issue arise (AVG keeps popping up with an alert warning me of "Trojan Horse - Exploit.SWF_cBAC" in "redir.adap.tv/redir/client/VPixel.swf").  I resolved the problem myself using a technique I learned from having to deal with malware AVG was unable to detect or remove.  I simply added the line "127.0.0.1 redir.adap.tv" to my hosts file (which has the effect of forbidding any program from accessing anything on the website redir.adap.tv).  While I have no idea whether redir.adap.tv is malicious or not, it worked like a charm - no more alerts, no more problem.  Google "hosts file" for more information.  In fact there are host files available on the internet which you can download and use to prevent you from accessing thousands of malicious websites.

Resident Shield Results states that "Trojan horse exploit.swf_c.BAC" was secured and then "restored from Virus Vault. What gives?

So does this mean that my computer is not secure?
