Hi Tyler,
Thank you for the information that you have provided. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Since the installation was not successful, use the AVG Remover tool. Please make sure to save all your work and close all open documents! Your computer will be restarted during the process. I would request you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG conflicting components and then try installing again. To determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218
To download the remover tool, please click on the below link to download AVG Remover tool for 32-bit: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x86_2015_5501.exe

Basically the whole program doesnt want to install and gives me that error code. I tried installing it a couple months ago but gave the same code. I got it off the main AVG page.

Hello Tyler,

Are you now trying to install a paid or free/trial version of AVG program? Have you earlier installed any AVG (paid/free/trial) in the computer you are now trying to install your AVG program?

Thank you.

Thank you, AVG!!  I have been using AVG for a few years now. A few months ago after installing Windows 10, I tried to reinstall AVG.  Of course I got the error.  I searched for help then got fed up because I had other issues with Windows 10 so I gave up.  I downloaded another program, Av**t :), but I was never really happy with it.  I finally tried to download AVG again and decided I was not going to quit until I got it.  I came across this solution.  It worked!!!!  First try! No complication! Took only a couple minutes.

Also, the link to determine what OS I have, was a plus. I was pretty sure I knew, but it was nice to be able to easily double check.

AVG, I promise I won't stray again.

Thanks again!

Hello Christopher,
Thank you for the information. This error code could be due to any older version of AVG which was not removed completely. We request you to make sure if the traces had been removed by following these instructions once again.
Please remove conflicting antivirus products if any (http://avgread.me/1K1IqEh) and then remove AVG traces using remover tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After restarting your computer, you may need to manually delete any remaining AVG files and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then install your AVG program by downloading from http://www.avg.com/us-en/download .Thank you.

I too have the problem. Get error code Oxc007001d. Was trying to install AVG after failing to get Kaspersky working for more than a few days of successful opreation.  I think they were loading updates that were not compatable with my computer. Kaspersky 2017 would not work at all. So was using 2015. I have Windows XP sp3.  The problem was that my processor did not have SSE-2.
it only has SSE.  So even tho I was able to load and run 2015 it quit after a few days. Their tech suport was worthless. Perhaps the SSE-2 problem is at work here.  I will  run without protection until the problem has a proper solution.    Carl

Carl, For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions. Also, to the best of my knowledge, the latest AVG version also requires SSE-2.
