AVG Installs Chrome?

What gives? Yesterday AVG Free installed Chrome. A welcome dialog on my Windows 7 box. So, I uninstalled it. Today it installed it again. Any ideas how to stop this?

Installation? What installation? AVG did an automatic update without prompting me and that update installed Chrome, twice, on its own.
I have checked all of the menus and I find no way to op-out of AVG installing Chrome without my permission. Noithing close in the settings, except to turn off automatic program updates, which I did, and let it prompt me the next time.
Why would it assume I wanted to opt-in to installing 3rd-party applications on my system?

So, your solution is for us to DOWNLOAD more software and UNINSTALL AVG then REINSTALL IT?  That's ridiculous. I have the PAID version, and I never saw any option to NOT have it install Chrome.  Besides that, we can uninstall Chrome from the control panel, although we SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.

Installing software withouth our permission is RUDE.

Even though there's a place to turn them off AFTER THE FACT, it's RUDE to enable the POPUPS when I've paid for your software.

Oh, and it's RUDE to have your online CHAT make a CLICKING sound every time I hit the ENTER key.  I've got music playing!

It seems that you guys still haven't learned your lesson. I just downloaded a trial version and was about to purchase the Ultimate version for about 10 devices when all of the sudden chrome pops up on my computer and is now the default browser! There was never any mention of installing this crap nor was there any option to opt out!

What I didn't ask for or consent to is Google Chrome being installed at my expsense! I pay for my data dearly and for you people to so arrogantly burn up my money and install crap I dont want really pisses me off! If I wanted more socialism I'd move to California! I know what best for me and my computer. Not you! Now, your software will be uninstalled and you will never again have me as a customer. I apparently value my freedom of choice and privacy much more than your company seems to.

Never Again,
Tim

Hello Tim,
We're sorry to hear about this. We always want to keep our customers happy. We have an option to uncheck the box "Yes, I also want to install google chrome web browser". Once you uncheck the box while installing AVG, the Google chrome application will not install. You can refer the screenshot below.
Cheers,
Alok.

I've gotta say this is a very bad look for AVG. I've been a fan and a customer of yours for about 15 years on and off. Never had any complaints except for this. I feel like I've been dodging having chrome or the google toolbar installed on my computers from several different sources for the better part of two decades now. First time I remember it happening was way back in 2002! I didn't want it then, and i don't want it now. Making this opt out is just tedious.

Same goes for your pop up adds. At leat that only has to be opted out of once though.
