AVG is blocking my printer/scanner

I have a brother MFC6910dw that connects to my PC wirelessly. Since using AVG my scanner wont work but I can print. I am not sure how to add this to the firewall to allow it. Please help.

Hello Kylie,
We understand that you are unable to run scanner after the installation of AVG. Please open the AVG Internet Security installed in your computer and click on Menu->settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->System Rules.
From here please configure Printer and sharing and then select "Network Profile". Please check if the network is set to private. If it is selected as "Public", please change this to "Private" and check if everything works fine.

Hello, my settings are as you have receommended but I keep getting the device is not connected error.

We understand the situation. We request you to disable AVG Protection temporarily as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-use-Passive-Mode and check whether the device is able to connect.
