Virus and connection to internet

Running latest paid for version AVG Zen Internet Security

Appears to be a virus

Unable to connect to internet, am on-line no response to connection attempts, remote computer not responding to connections on port 80 possibly due to firewall or security policy settings, windows could not find a problem with the firewall.

OP - Windows 10

Windows defender which is not active, has highlighted via slide bar notification a virus appears to be present & saying run security scan.

AVG will not run past 55% first attempt found 5 threats, froze... then rebooted now the 5 threats not present in log after reboot. Can't update as can't connect to internet tried both wireless and Ethernet

Any idea's

Hello Lorne. I apologize for the inconvenience caused. There is an issue with our online update server and we are working on this to fix the issue. For time being I would request you to update your AVG program through offline method and once the update is installed please perform a whole computer scan. Please follow only the offline method of updating mentioned in this link: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-update-AVG . Please feel free to contact us should you need any further assistance.
