AVG FREE and windows 10

I am running windows 10 and was using AVG Free 2015. I cannot uninstall it and I cannot download anything from AVG sight. It will crash both Firefox and Internet explorer whenever I try. I cannot update AVG free 2015 as it is. Help me!

Sorry Alan, in this case, we request you to download and run AVG remover tool by booting your PC into Safe Mode.
To boot windows 10 in Safe mode, please follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://www.howtogeek.com/107511/how-to-boot-into-safe-mode-on-windows-8-the-easy-way/ . Restart your PC and check whether you able to download AVG Free Antivirus and install it.

Hello Alan,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We request you to try using our AVG Remover Tool to remove all traces of AVG.
1) To download AVG remover tool, please click on this link: http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
2) Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions.
3) Restart your PC when the restart option is displayed on the remover tool screen.
NOTE: Once you have logged into your PC after the restart, please go to C: drive and delete the "AVG REMOVER" folder manually.

Our latest version is 2016 and To download the AVG free antivirus 2016, please click on this link: http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-antivirus-free .

As I said before, I am not able to download anything on AVG site. My browser crashes everytime I try.

That worked - I was able to download the AVG Remover Tool and remove AVG Free 2015. Once I removed it I was able to download AVG 2016.

Hello there! Kinda related - I am running windows 10 and had AVG Free, which would not uninstal - I followed this and it succesfully removed it, but now I am having the same issue trying to remove the uninstaller exe!!  It is erroring "Sorry you don't have enough free disk space for AVG to be INSTALLED error 0xe001f96d".  I don't want to INSTAL - I am trying to UNINSTALL to free up space!! Am using Windows 10 HP laptop which is very low spec (is a kids laptop) but ... how can I delete this?  Thank you :)

Sorry - Part II to the above. I tried to delete the folder from the C:/ as suggested - but it is asking for a Administator access.  I AM the Administrator - there is no other account on the laptop. ??
