Do Not Disturb Mode - FAQs

What is Do Not Disturb Mode?

Do Not Disturb Mode is a new feature in the latest version of AVG Internet Security and AVG AntiVirus FREE, and is an upgrade to the previous Game Mode feature. Do Not Disturb Mode works to silence unnecessary notifications while you run almost any application in fullscreen.

How does Do Not Disturb Mode work?

Each time you open an application in fullscreen, Do Not Disturb Mode automatically detects it and adds it to a list of applications. When you run applications from this list of entries in fullscreen, Do Not Disturb Mode automatically launches to silence notifications from Windows, AVG, and other applications. In the Do Not Disturb Mode applications list, you can hover your cursor over an application's panel, click the icon (three dots) that appears and tick Maximize Performance, which allows it to run at highest priority and boost the performance of your PC.

How can I disable Do Not Disturb Mode?

Do Not Disturb Mode is enabled by default in AVG Internet Security and AVG AntiVirus FREE. You can disable the automatic launch of Do Not Disturb Mode for specific applications:

  1. Open the AVG user interface and go to MenuDo Not Disturb Mode.
  2. Click the green (ON) slider next to an application so that it changes to red (OFF).

Do Not Disturb Mode is now disabled for this application, and notifications will continue when you run the application is in fullscreen.

How can I add applications to my Do Not Disturb Mode list?

Each time you open an application in fullscreen, Do Not Disturb Mode automatically detects it and adds it to your Do Not Disturb Mode list. You can also add applications manually. To manually add applications to the list:

  1. Open the AVG user interface and go to MenuDo Not Disturb Mode.
  2. Click Add App, then select an app from the pre-defined list. If your chosen app does not appear on the pre-defined list, click Select App Path, navigate to the app's location, then click Open.

The application now appears on your Do Not Disturb Mode list.

You can increase the performance of preferred applications on your Do Not Disturb Mode list by hovering your cursor over the application's panel, clicking the icon (three dots) that appears and ticking the box next to Maximize Performance.

Does Do Not Disturb Mode only work when my applications are fullscreen?

Yes. Do Not Disturb Mode only launches automatically when an application is opened in fullscreen. If an application is already on the Do Not Disturb Mode applications list, it must also be opened in fullscreen for Do Not Disturb Mode to launch. If an application is opened in windowed mode, Do Not Disturb Mode does not launch, and you continue getting notifications from other applications.

Is Do Not Disturb Mode a free feature?

Yes. Do Not Disturb Mode is a free upgrade from Game Mode, and is available in the latest version of AVG AntiVirus FREE and AVG Internet Security.
