Icarus.exe

Since a few days I have the same problem already mentioned several times by other users with an "enhanced firewall question" :  icarus.exe is trying to open a Web page using a secure connection (HTTPS).
Allowing this action can't be remembered and it pops up again and again.  Tech support explanations are vague and unsatisfactory to keep confidance in AVG products.  This question has been submitted also to sales department.  Please clarify this urgent matter ASAP to keep credibility among long term AVG customers like me and others who have the same worries.

Hi Yvan,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We would like to clarify that "icarus.exe" is a legitimate file associated with the latest 20.1 version of AVG TuneUp.
The reason for AVG Firewall to show prompt about "icarus.exe" is because of 'Ask' setting enabled on Firewall.
If it is set, AVG firewall will ask for your permission to allow any communication happening on your computer.
Please open AVG Internet Security program window. Click on "Menu->Settings->Full Protection->Enhanced Firewall".
Under "For programs with no defined rules", select the option as "Auto-Decide".
By selecting this option, Firewall will automatically select which communication to be allowed.
Feel free to contact us if you need further clarification.

Thanks Bala for your swift reaction, I applied your recommendation and If no further exchanges here ... it means the problem has been solved.

You are most welcome, Yvan.
This wasn't an issue at all.
If the option was set as "Ask", then Firewall would definitely ask your permission for any communication happening on your PC.
If it is set as "auto-decide", then you won't get any prompt from AVG Firewall to get your permission.
Thank you.

I have exactly the same problem.  The issue I have is that I want Ask to be enabled.  The check box "Remember my answer" is checked so it should NEVER request an action again.  This has worked for dozens of firewall challenges but NEVER for Icarus.exe

It is very frustrating. It also says "for programs with no defined rules ( not listed on applications rules page )

I have a "packet rules" page and a "system rules" page - but no application rules page!

Do you delibertely make this difficult?
