Uninstalling AVG Secure Browser

If you have a paid AVG Secure Browser PRO subscription, uninstalling the browser does not automatically cancel your subscription. For information about canceling your subscription, refer to this article: Canceling an AVG subscription - Frequently Asked Questions

Uninstall AVG Secure Browser

To uninstall AVG Secure Browser from a Windows device, select the relevant tab below according to your Windows version.

Uninstall via Start menu

  1. Right-click the Windows Start icon, and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
  2. Ensure that Apps is selected in the left panel, then click (three dots) next to AVG Secure Browser and click Uninstall twice.
  3. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  4. Optionally, tick the box next to Also delete your browsing data to delete your profile information, such as bookmarks and history. Then click Uninstall to continue.
  5. Wait while the uninstaller removes AVG Secure Browser from your PC.
  6. When the confirmation message appears, optionally click OK, Sure to complete the uninstallation survey, or click the X in the top-right corner to close the window.
  1. Right-click the Windows Start icon, and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears.
  2. Ensure that Apps & features is selected in the left panel, then select AVG Secure Browser, and click Uninstall twice.

  5. Wait while the uninstaller removes AVG Secure Browser from your PC.

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and X key simultaneously.
  2. Select Programs and Features from the menu that appears.
  3. Right-click AVG Secure Browser, then select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  4. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  5. Optionally, tick the box next to Also delete your browsing data to delete your profile information, such as bookmarks and history. Then click Uninstall to continue.
  6. Wait while the uninstaller removes AVG Secure Browser from your PC.
  7. When the confirmation message appears, optionally click OK, Sure to complete the uninstallation survey, or click the X in the top-right corner to close the window.
  1. Click the Windows Start icon, and select Control Panel.
  2. Follow option A or option B below according to your view:
    • Option A (Default category view): Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
    • Option B (Large/small icons view): Click Programs and Features.
  3. Right-click AVG Secure Browser, and select Uninstall from the drop-down menu.
  4. If prompted for permission by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes.
  5. Optionally, tick the box next to Also delete your browsing data to delete your profile information, such as bookmarks and history. Then click Uninstall to continue.
  6. Wait while the uninstaller removes AVG Secure Browser from your PC.
  7. When the confirmation message appears, optionally click OK, Sure to complete the uninstallation survey, or click the X in the top-right corner to close the window.

AVG Secure Browser is now uninstalled from your PC. If you were unable to uninstall AVG Secure Browser by following the steps above, refer to the Uninstall Tool section below.

Uninstall via Uninstall Tool

If you experience issues trying to uninstall AVG Secure Browser via the Start menu, we recommend using the AVG Uninstall Tool to completely delete all AVG Secure Browser files from your PC.

Uninstall via Trash

  1. Ensure AVG Secure Browser is not running. If the browser is running, right-click (control-click) the AVG Secure Browser icon in the Dock, and select Quit.
  2. Click Go in the Apple menu bar, and select Applications.
  3. Right-click (control-click) the AVG Secure Browser icon, and select Move to Trash.
  4. Once AVG Secure Browser is moved to Trash, right-click (control-click) the Trash icon in the Dock, and select Empty Trash.

AVG Secure Browser is now uninstalled from your Mac.

To uninstall AVG Secure Browser from an Android device, follow the steps below according to your preferred method:

Uninstall via Google Play Store

  1. On the home screen of your device, tap the Play Store icon to open Google Play Store.
  2. In the search bar, type AVG Secure Browser, and select AVG Secure Browser from the search results.
  3. Tap Uninstall twice to confirm uninstallation.

AVG Secure Browser is now uninstalled from your Android device.

Uninstall via device settings

These steps may differ slightly depending on your device model, Android version, and vendor customizations.
  1. Open your device Settings and select Apps.
  2. Select AVG Secure Browser.
  3. Tap Uninstall.
  4. Tap OK to confirm uninstallation.

AVG Secure Browser is now uninstalled from your Android device.
