What is an AVG Account?

An AVG Account is a portal for managing your paid AVG subscriptions. After signing in to your AVG Account, you can:

  • View all of your purchased AVG subscriptions.
  • Retrieve the activation code for any of your AVG subscriptions.
  • Download any of your AVG products.
  • Cancel an AVG subscription, or check its status.
  • View your AVG payment history and find the Order ID linked to any of your purchases.
  • Control an Android device remotely with the Anti-Theft feature in AVG AntiVirus.

Is an AVG Account created automatically for me when I purchase an AVG product?

No. An AVG Account is not automatically created when you purchase an AVG subscription. You can create an account manually with an email address that is not already registered. When the account is created, your AVG Account username is your registered email address.

Where can I find information about my AVG subscriptions?

To see a list of your AVG subscriptions:

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Subscriptions tile.

The My Subscriptions screen displays all of the AVG subscriptions that are linked to your AVG Account.

How can I cancel my AVG subscription?

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Subscriptions tile.
  3. Click Unsubscribe under the subscription that you want to cancel.

It is not possible to cancel AVG subscriptions purchased via Google Play Store or the App Store using your AVG Account. For information about canceling a subscription purchased from one of these vendors, refer to the following article:

Why are some subscriptions not visible in my AVG Account?

Most paid AVG product subscriptions appear on the My Subscriptions screen. However, the paid AVG services below do not appear in your AVG Account:

  • AVG Express Install
  • AVG Virus & Spyware Removal
  • AVG Virus Removal Assurance
  • AVG Premium Tech Support

Additionally, subscriptions purchased via Google Play Store or the App Store do not automatically appear in your AVG Account.

If you think a paid AVG subscription is missing from your AVG Account, contact AVG Support.

Payments

How can I see my payment history?

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Payments tile.

The Payments screen displays a full list of your payments to AVG. The following information is available for each listed transaction:

  • Order ID: The order number assigned to the transaction. This may be requested if you contact AVG Support to resolve any issues relating to your order.
  • Date: The date that the transaction was processed.
  • Subscriptions: The name of the purchased subscription, including the number of devices and the length of the subscription.
  • Payment method: The method used for purchase (for example Paypal or Credit card).
  • Total: The price of the subscription.
The Payment method and Total may not be available for all subscriptions. If you do not see this information in your AVG Account, it can be verified in the order confirmation email that you received after purchase.

How can I find my AVG order number?

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Payments tile.
  3. The order number for each transaction is shown under Order ID.

Why are some payments not visible in my AVG Account?

Purchases made via Google Play Store or the App Store do not appear in your AVG Account. To view information relating to mobile purchases, refer to the relevant information below:

  • Google Play Store: Open Google Play Store and tap MenuSubscriptions.
  • The App Store: Open the App Store, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Manage Subscriptions.

Purchases made via certain third-party resellers may not appear in your AVG Account. However, you can review details relating to any AVG purchases in the relevant order confirmation email.

How can I get a copy of my order invoice?

This option is not yet available via your AVG Account. In most cases, the order confirmation email that you received after purchase contains a link to a downloadable order invoice.

How can I update my payment card details?

This option is not yet available via your AVG Account. We recommend contacting AVG Support to update your payment card details.

Please do not send us your full payment card number via email.

How can I request a refund from AVG?

For most AVG products, you can contact us within 30 days of purchase to receive a full refund. Your AVG Account allows you to verify if any of your purchased subscriptions are eligible for a refund:

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Payments tile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select I'd like my money back.

If none of your subscriptions were purchased in the last 30 days, you see the message You have no eligible subscriptions. Otherwise, click See eligible subscriptions to open a list of your subscriptions that are eligible for a refund.

What is Anti-Theft?

Anti-Theft allows you to connect to your Android device if it is lost or stolen and execute several commands remotely from your AVG Account. You cannot control a missing device unless AVG AntiVirus for Android is already installed on the device, and the following requirements are met:

  • The device is turned on and connected to the internet.
  • The Anti-Theft feature is enabled on the device.

What is the Community forum?

After signing in to your AVG Account, click the Community forum tile on the main AVG Account screen to access the AVG Support Community. This channel is monitored by AVG Support agents and provides an easy way to ask questions and discuss AVG products with other users.

We cannot guarantee that all questions posted in the AVG Support Community will receive a response directly from an AVG Support agent.

How can I change the email address that I use to sign in to my AVG Account?

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Account settings tile.
  3. In the Email section, select Change.
  4. Enter your New Email address and your existing AVG Account Password.
  5. Click Save changes to confirm.
  6. Go to your email inbox and open the email from AVG with the subject Please verify your email address.
  7. Click the Verify Email button.
If you see the message 'This email address is already being used in another account', you can contact AVG Support and request that your current AVG Account is merged with the previous AVG Account that is using your chosen email address.

How can I change my AVG Account password?

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account using the link below:
  2. Click the Account settings tile.
  3. In the Security section, select Change password.
  4. Type your current password in the Current password text box.
  5. Enter your new password in both the New password and Retype new password text boxes.
  6. Click Confirm.

What if I don't know the password or email address for my AVG Account?

  • Password: You can reset your password using the recover password page.
  • Email address: You can also use the recover password page to check if your email address is already in the AVG Account database. Enter the email address that you think may be correct nd click Continue. The message 'An account with this email doesn't exist - yet.' means that the email address is not registered. You can try using another email address, or create a new AVG Account.
