Joining beta tester groups gives you the opportunity to test the latest versions of AVG Android apps before public release. You can help us improve our apps by providing feedback.
Become a beta tester
- On the Home screen of your device, tap the Google Play Store icon to open the store.
- Search for
AVG, then select the relevant product from the search results. - Scroll down to Join the beta, and tap Join.
- Wait for the beta sign-up process to complete. This can take several minutes.
- The app information screen now displays (Beta) at the end of the title and You're a beta tester for this app. Future updates will include beta versions.
- Tap Install or Update to download the latest beta version of the app. If no beta version is currently available, tap Open to open the app.
- To become a beta tester for additional AVG Android apps, repeat the steps above for each app.
To leave the AVG beta testing program:
Follow steps 1 - 2 above, scroll down to You're a beta tester, then tap Leave.
If you are unable to join the AVG Android beta program using the Preferred Method, follow the steps below:
- Open the relevant link below on your Android device:
- Tap Become a tester.
- If the app is already installed, it automatically updates to the latest beta version. If the app isn't installed, tap download it on Google Play.
- Tap Install to download the latest beta version of the app.
- To become a beta tester for additional AVG Android apps, repeat the steps above for each app.
You can provide feedback about an AVG beta app version via Google Play Store
To leave the AVG beta testing program:
Open the relevant links in step 1 above on your Android device, then tap Leave The Program.
Enable auto-updates
We recommend enabling auto-updates in Google Play Store to ensure you always have the latest beta version.
- On the Home screen of your device, tap the Google Play Store icon to open the store.
- Tap
☰Menu (three lines) in the top-left corner, then select Settings. - Tap Auto-update apps.
- Select one of the displayed options, then tap Done. We recommend selecting Over Wi-Fi only to reduce mobile data consumption.
Your apps now automatically update each time a new version is released.
Provide feedback
To send feedback about an AVG beta version app:
- On the Home screen of your device, tap the Google Play Store icon to open the store.
- Search for AVG, then select the relevant product from the search results.
- Scroll down to Private feedback to developer, then tap Write feedback.
- Tap the stars to give a rating, enter your feedback, then tap Post to submit your feedback.
Your rating and feedback now appears under Your private feedback. To change your rating or comments, tap Edit your feedback. To delete your feedback, tap More options ⋮ (three dots), then select Delete.
