Troubleshooting AVG Password Protection

AVG Password Protection is no longer available for purchase online. Existing AVG Password Protection users can continue using the product.

Password Protection is a paid feature in AVG Internet Security for Windows that offers an additional layer of security to your Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser to protect your sensitive login data, notify you if your password is leaked, and advise you about the security level of passwords stored in your browsers.

In some cases, an issue may prevent you from enabling Password Protection.

Instructions

To resolve the issue with Password Protection:

  1. Uninstall AVG Internet Security using the AVG Uninstall Tool.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Reinstall and reactivate the application. For detailed instructions, refer to the articles below:

The issue is resolved. You can now turn Password Protection on.
