Installation and Activation

Download and install your AVG product

To download and install your AVG product:

  1. Click the button below to open our download and installation help page: Get product
  2. Use the Choose your product drop-down menu to select your purchased product.
  3. Use the Choose your platform drop-down menu to select your platform.
  4. Click See Installation Instructions, then follow the on-screen steps.

Your AVG product is now installed on your device. If you have not yet activated your subscription, refer the the next sections in this article for information about locating your activation code and activating your AVG product.

Locate your activation code

You can find your activation code in one of the following locations:

  • The AVG Account that is linked to the email address you provided during the subscription purchase.
  • The order confirmation email that you received after purchase (usually from no.reply@avg.com).
  • Another AVG product that you have already activated using the same activation code.
  • The activation card that was included with your purchase in an AVG box or plastic case from a retail store or reseller.

Your AVG product is now activated and ready to use. If you experienced any issues installing and activating your AVG product, refer to the troubleshooting tips in this article.

Which AVG product(s) did I purchase?

Some AVG subscriptions are valid for multiple products, and some are valid for just one product. You can verify what is included in your AVG subscription using one of the methods below:

  • AVG Account: Sign in to the AVG Account that is linked to the email address you provided at checkout, then click the My Subscriptions tile. The valid platforms and products for each subscription are listed under Install on your devices.
  • Order confirmation email: Locate the order confirmation email that you received after purchase (usually from no.reply@avg.com). The valid platforms and products are listed under Download.

What if installation fails?

What if activation is unsuccessful?

Review the information below, which explains how to resolve some of the most common activation issues.

If your AVG product displays an expiration message, refer to the following section of this article to ensure your product is properly activated:

If you are still unable to activate your subscription, you can click the link below to open the AVG Technical Support form. After you submit the request, an AVG Support agent will contact you to help resolve the issue.

If your AVG product displays an expiration message, refer to the following section of this article to ensure your product is properly activated:

Ensure that your AVG Account is linked to the AVG subscription that you are trying to activate. To verify which subscriptions are linked to your AVG Account:

  1. Sign in to your AVG Account and click the My Subscriptions tile.
  2. Verify if the subscription that you want to activate appears on the My Subscriptions screen.

If your subscription does not appear in your AVG Account, choose your preferred option below:

  • Contact AVG Support so that we can manually link your AVG subscription to your AVG Account.
  • Create a new AVG Account using the email address you provided during the subscription purchase. This ensures that the subscription is automatically displayed in your new AVG Account.

If you are still unable to activate your subscription, you can click the link below to open the AVG Technical Support form. After you submit the request, an AVG Support agent will contact you to help resolve the issue.
