Submitting a file or URL to AVG for review

AVG Support provides forms for reporting false positive and false negative files and URLs. You can use the false positive form if you believe an AVG app is incorrectly detecting a clean website or file. You can fill in the false negative form to report a suspicious file or website which has not been detected by AVG apps.

Submit a file or URL for AVG to review

  1. Open your preferred browser and go to AVG ▸ Submit a website or a file to AVG for review.
  2. Select Open submit form under False positive or False negative, depending on what you want to report.
  3. In the top panel, select whether you want to report a URL or a File.
  4. Fill in the following information:
    • Your email address
    • For a false negative report: The Website URL OR the relevant File
    • For a false positive report: The Detection name, Alert ID, and the Website URL OR the relevant File
    • A Description of your issue
The guidelines for submitting files are:
    • Uploads can be a maximum size of 500 MB.
    • You may upload a maximum of 1 file by placing the sample file within a ZIP or RAR archive.
    • Uploads must not be password protected.
    • This process is for detected files only. Undetected files will not be processed.
