AVG Anti-Virus not installing on new MacBook Pro

Hi,

Trying to install the latest AVG Anti-virus on a new MacBook Pro with Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3.
The installer starts, it downloads the files and begin installing, however at the end it said it failed and the software manufacturer should be contacted.

The AVGAntivirus directory is created in /Library with two sub folders tmpInstall and update-data. AVGAntivirus is not listed in /Applications.

I've done the delete, re-install and also machine restart.

Anybody have any idea?
Help would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

Ivo,
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We need to understand more about this situation. Provide us the screenshot of the error message you received during installation. Do you have any other Antivirus program installed on your device?

Hi Ranjani,

I've attached the image. The macbook pro is completely new so no other software is installed yet.
Does this help?

Thanks
ivo

Hi Karthikeyan,

Thank you for your response.

As this is a complete new machine, there are no old traces from any other programme. Actually AVG was the first app to get installed.

1. I've done the uninstall through the terminal as indicated before. Tried again, no luck.
2. Tried install again through the same link. No luck again.

Was wondering if there could be an issue because of disk encryption / FileVault, or latest macOS version?

Thanks.
