Blocking Networks

I cannot connect to my home private wireless network if AVG is active.  The only way I can connect to the wifi is by totally disabling AVG.  When I open Settings>>Full Protection>>Enhanced Firewall, I see my home network with a red X on the network name.  How / where do I go to to not block my home network?  I was never asked if I wanted to block my network.  MS shows I'm connected but can't get it to connect to the internet.

Hello John,

We'll certainly check and resolve this for you.
Could you share the screenshot of the interface showing your home network with 'X' mark?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Thank you for sharing us the screenshot, John.
Would you be so kind to disable AVG's firewall alone to check if it allows you to connect to the Wifi?
Open AVG - Hacker attacks - Enhanced firewall - Disable it by clicking on the toggle bar.

I can't test my Home Network, however as you see from he pic I sent earlier I was blocked from Ohio Health...  This morning after disabling the AVG Firewall I connected immediately to the Ohio Health network, which I wanted to do yesterday as well.

AVG does not have the rights to determine what networks I'm able to connect to!!! You need to provide a warning and let the end user decide.  I travel extensively for work and am constantly connecting to different networks...  To further protect myself I have a VPN installed on my devices (s).  Either fix the problem with your product or issue me a full refund.  Microsoft seems to be doing as good of a job of protecting me without the hassles of making myself vulnerable.

John, we realize the concern, but AVG Firewall is designed to scan for all communications that you happen on your computer.
If AVG Firewall finds a different network other than the one that you connect at home/office, then it would categorize it as a "Public" network.
When the network is set as "Public" then our firewall will restrict the access through it as there are chances for your computer get vulnerable when you are connected to a public network.
Hence, if you are sure about the network, you can just change the network profile to "Private" which will automatically grant access.
To be specific in your case, you can select "Private" for "Ohio Health" network from our AVG Firewall settings and then try to access the internet.

And just where do I do that?  Again, AVG should give me the option to connect or not.  Warn me of the possible consequences would be best advised.  On another lap top I don’t have these problems, why are you doing it on this devise?  This needs to be address and addressed ASAP.  If this is not possible, BYE BYE FELECIA.  I don’t have time for you telling me what to do,.

John, in the screenshot provided above you have already marked the place where you can see the network profile which is "private" and "public".
You can select the "Ohio network" and change its profile to "Private" as it is set to "Public" by default. Once it is changed to private, you should be able to connect through that network without any issues.
If you aren't able to get into that settings, open AVG Internet Security program interface. Click on "Hacker Attacks" and "Firewall Options".
Select "Network Profiles" where you can see the window that I mentioned here.
On the other laptop, could you check whether the network profile for "Ohio Network" is set to "public" or "private"?
You can submit a feedback regarding the AVG Firewall on how to prompt you through the program settings. Click on "Menu-->About-->Submit a feedback" from AVG Internet Security program to get this done.
