AVG Free Off-line Installer for XP

AVG says that
https://install.avcdn.net/avg/iavs9x-xp/avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
is the link to download the AVG free off-line installer for Windows XP.
When I run this file, this pop-up appears four times:
{Could not insert screenshot}
Microsoft says this means the S/W is not for my version of Windows.

After installation, the AVG screen looks like:
{Could not insert screenshot}
This is not AVG free, it is the trial version of the full AVG program.
When I run this version of AVG, it damages my system, so I agree with Microsoft - it is not for XP.

When I install using the on-line installer from
https://www.avg.com/en-ca/windows-xp-antivirus
there are no pop-ups, and the AVG screen looks like:
{Could not insert screenshot}
There are no obvious problems when I run this version of AVG.

Where can I find an AVG free off-line installer for XP?

Greetings,

We appreciate your efforts in sharing us the screenshots.
Please try to download the offline installer for XP through this link & let us know if it helps.
Also, the offline installer that you've tried is for the AVG Internet Security. We can try to revert it or downgrade it to Free by following the below steps :
Open AVG Internet Security - Menu - Settings - General - Troubleshooting - Add/Modify components - In the setup wizard that opens, check & choose if Basic protection is available in the dropdown box that is listed beside 'Which components do you want to install'.

Your "this link" ->
https://www.avg.com/en-gb/download-thank-you.php?product=FREEGSR-OFFLINE
which downloads avg_antivirus_free_setup_offline.exe,
version 19.3.4241.0 which does NOT work on XP - only version
18 does.

"the offline installer that you've tried" is the one that
AVG stated several times (see other threads in this forum)
was the AVG free off-line installer for XP.  I KNOW it is
"for the AVG Internet Security" - that is exactly my
problem.

I am not going to install AVG Internet Security and then
"downgrade" it.

Hi, as you mentioned in the first post, use this https://install.avcdn.net/avg/iavs9x-xp/avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe link and proceed with the insttallation.
When the message appears from Microsoft, click on "continue anyway" and see whether you are able to install the program.
Keep me apprised about the status.

PLEASE read my posts before replying.  I already completed
the install using
https://install.avcdn.net/avg/iavs9x-xp/avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
- where did you think the second screen shot in my post came
from???  As I said in my post (and as Dinesh Krishnan
(Avast) said in his post), this installs the trial version
of the full AVG program (AVG Internet Security).

Sorry for that. As of now, we only have this https://install.avcdn.net/avg/iavs9x-xp/avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe for Windows XP/Vista.
In-order to get the free version for it, you can try uninstalling AVG Internet Security from your Windows XP computer and you should get the option as "switch to free version" during the uninstallation process.
If you get it, please click on it and check whether you are getting the free version installed.

I already have AVG free for XP installed using the on-line
installer from https://www.avg.com/en-ca/windows-xp-antivirus
(see the third screenshot in my post).

Are you saying there is no AVG free off-line installer for XP?
Balasubramanian SBalasubramanian S (Avast)
Thank you for the information.
Could you click on "Menu-->About" from AVG Antivirus free and provide the screenshot of version window that appears?
Yes, for Windows XP and Vista we do not have AVG Antivirus free offline installer.

Yes, this is the version that would get installed for Windows XP and Vista when you try the online installer downloaded from our https://www.avg.com/installation-files downloads website.
As informed earlier, offline installer isn't available for the free version.

Thank you for the confirmation.

You are most welcome.
Have a nice day!
