Edgar Andrews Windows 7 protection
Microsoft have withdrawn support for Windows 7 as of 14 January 2020 and the UK government security branch are warning that internet banking and e-mail should no longer be done using Windows 7. My question is; does my wide-ranging suite of AVG products (anti-virus, anto-hacker, firewall, VPN etc) protect me from security failures in Windows 7 even though update patches will no longer be available from Microsoft?
The alternative is that I must upgrade my desktop computer to Windows 10 which I understand is a risky procedure or even buy a new computer with Windows 10 OP installed (Microsoft STRONGLY advise this last option which I am reluctant to do because I have an enormous amount of software which will not easily be transferred to a new computer). Does my AVG software keep me protected as I continue to run Windows 7?

You can continue using Windows 7 with AVG programs installed.
