Lost all office components

I recently downloaded AVG Free tune up(04/04/19). It put to sleep various programmes and woke them when reqd. This became slower and slower, until finally I decided to remove/uninstall it as well as AVG free, which I had used for years. I now find that whilst the various office programmes still appear to be there, I cannot open them and the message cannot find 'c:/ users/ etc etc cannot be found' .  I am the Secretary of 3 Charitable organisations ( relatively small) and find the situation more than a little difficult, and not what I would have expected from what I believed such a well respected organisation. My query may appear relatively mild, but believe me, I am both extremely frustrated and angry at the loss of the historical and active documents, minutes, memos and templates. What can be done AVG? I might add that I am a computer user, not a programmer, and what may appear simple procedure to some is not so to me.

Hello Claude.
We certainly understand this must be a disruption. Was AVG TuneUp and AVG AntiVirus free uninstalled successfully or did you experience any issues? If the uninstall was successful, the changes made to your PC by AVG TuneUp will be undone. I'd request to repair the MS Office applications and check if that resolves the issue.

Visit https://support.office.com/en-US/Article/Repair-an-Office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b for instructions to repair an MS Office application and an alternate if the repair does not work.

Neither of these Fixes worked. I am still without Office and unable to create new or access any of my documents. I'm not yet suicidal but getting more and more frustrated and angry. As stated previously i am a computer user not a programmer and when my computer does not respond in the way that the on-line instructions stated it should i am left wondering just what to do, and probably/ may have done the wrong thing.
The office programme that was installed was MS office 2007( i have the Disc). I changed to windows 10 about 2 years ago , but would expect that the Office programme has remained the same ?The problem with the AVG Tune up has caused a lot of delay and hardship to the organisations that i help administrate and would really appreciate some real help.

We're sorry to know that, Claude. In this regard, if you prefer, we can reinstall AVG TuneUp (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Install-TuneUp) & check if MS Office is hibernated.

To check this : Open AVG TuneUp - Speed Up - Background & startup programs - Scroll down to find programs that are sleeping - If MS Office is listed, please click on wake or ignore beside it. Before proceeding to check this, you need to activate the program.

This might allow us to revert the changes. Also, in future, we request you to ensure that we're the initial contact if you experience any issue with AVG.
Please try the above step & let us know if it helps.
