AVG warns me that "Internet Security" requires attention, that my virus definitions are out of date. My app is set to automatically download virus definitions and has been doing so up till now. When I try to manually download by clicking "check for updates" the app gets stuck in the 'checking for virus definitions....' routine. I have restarted my computer but the error keeps occurring. Any help on resolving this most appreciated. Thanks

Hi Avinash, Thanks for your reply. Please see the screenshots. First is the error message screen, when I click update now button it goes to the update screen and keeps checking for virus definitions but even after 15 minutes it remains in 'checking' status.
