So AVG cant cut the standards ehh?

So today I was working on a sandboxed system (sand boxing is when the main system is placed in a virtual machine to prevent virus destruction to entirety) and was testing how well AVG stands up to its competitors guess what... It came dead last in comparison to McAfee Norton AV Symantec AV and Calypso Av ( a personal fave of mine that a friend made using aforementioned above systems and using the repositories from them to create a Maximum stopping power Anti virus.) and Malware-bytes along with some of the lesser known Avast avira Ad aware and Shytstormer( a french made and hard to find av).. Out of the ones listed here only three of them made it passed the first stage of testing AVG didnt make it past 2% on stage one. Norton Symantec and Calypso were the top  performers in the setup and scan part of the tests

1:Calypso total time 14 seconds to install 24 seconds to scan a 2TB HDD with a slew of hidden worms and malware. Total time 38 seconds to setup find and destroy all 40 viruses.

2:Symantec total time 30 seconds to install and 3 mins to scan same HDD with the same viruses Total time 3min30sec to setup, find and destroy all 40 viruses

3:Norton total time 45 seconds to install and 3m05s to scan same HDD with the same viruses
Total time 3m50s to setup, find and destroy all 40 viruses.

Glad i helped develop Calypso and for those wondering what avg placed and what times it had

AVG total time 17mins to setup 3 hours to scan and Quarantine 40 viruses again i said Quarantine not Destroy heres why most other AV will not hold a partitioned area just for viruses they just destroy the virus instead unlike avg.

So why cant AVG meet the benchmarks??

I think you failed to understand this wasnt a question this was a statement. I personally tested avg against the competitors and avg out of 27 total programs was not only the slowest but also could not stop a simple worm that i wrote to test its ability to stop a variety of different viruses. On the other hand a AV that a friend and i designed and coded to be better then any other AV (Anti Virus)  with only the minimum of Repo's was faster then it by a vast margin. What "I am saying" is that id rather code my own AV then use that of a company that cant keep up with the magnet's such as Avira and Avast which are utter trash at AV protection but can catch and destroy the same virus's that AVG couldnt. I dont think that AVG is that great of a company after doing this test if a simple HDD scan took 3 hours on a Intel i7 8th gen kabylake with 24gb ram and a H110M Intel Msi Gaming board with a AMD Ktx 7500.
And yes thats my specs i wont dish on details of each component but its faster then the laptop im typing this on now. That being said I digress and will leave you with salt on the wound and a grave understanding that 2 guys can write a program that a big company cannot compete with. It is called Calypso and yes we are in the works on a Patent and are going to have it regestered with the MCG logo which also belongs to me. any use of the name or any ideas theren are copy protected and if seen in future updates of the AVG software it will be flagged to the BBB and to the Business Owners Association.. Hello Jeff,

Thank you for reaching us here.
AVG has its unique features with several components available in each version (free or paid). AVG scans every partition of your device  (and any drives connected to it) in real-time for viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans, rootkits, and other nasty forms of malware. That's why it requires a long time. This is normal with AVG.
We do have Quarantine folder through which you can safely store potentially dangerous files or send them to the AVG Threat Labs for analysis.
False positives may appear with any antivirus software as a result of new virus definitions added to the program's database. In those cases, restoring the files will be of much help.
Files in Quarantine cannot run or access your system and data, so any malicious code contained within a file is unable to harm your PC. This is to prevent any file loss from your PC.
We appreciate your valuable feedback. Feel free to contact us if you need more help.

Jeff, we realize your concern. Please be informed that, the virus definitions database of each antivirus company may differ. Hence, the file you tested has been considered by AVG as safe to run. If it is a harmful file, do submit its information to us through this http://www.avg.com/submit-sample link. After analysis, if it is confirmed as harmful, we will add it to our virus defintions update and from then, our antivirus program should detect it as a threat.

In general, when AVG detects a threat, it will try to repair the file by removing the threat, if that fails, it will try to delete the infected file. If that fails too, then it will move the file to Quarantine where it will be inactive. You can check the file information and if you confirm that it isn't necessary, then it can be deleted from the Quarantine.

The quick virus scan of AVG antivirus will only take few minutes whereas the other scan like "deep" or "file and folder" will definitely take time. The first AVG virus scan on your computer will always take time whereas the further scan will not take much time.

If you would like to submit a feedback, do click on "Menu-->About-->Submit Feedback" from AVG Antivirus program interface.
