Hi - Google Chrome takes about 10 seconds to load (or display any search results) on my new i5 HP laptop. I'd like to pause AVG to see if there's some kind of conflict. But when I right click on the AVG icon to get to the stop option, and click 'Protection is On' to 'Protection is Off', the option to select 'yes' doesn't work!
Hello, Derek. As an alternative way, you can enable the Passive mode from AVG program settings. Passive Mode disables all active protection, such as Shields and Firewall.
1. Open AVG Internet Security. 2. Click Menu > Settings. 3. Click Troubleshooting, and then slide the red slider to the right to enable Passive Mode. 4. Restart your computer to make the changes take effect.
Could you also provide a screenshot ( http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot ) of the 'Yes' option that does not work? Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions to upload it on this thread.
Hi - this worked. Thank you. I have now been able to disable AVG, test Chrome and have re-enable AVG.
With AVG disabled, Google Chrome performs searches and loads sites a lot faster! Is it possible that AVG is significantly slowing Google Chrome? Anything you/I can do about this?

Please run AVG repair avgclick.me/RepairAVG and check if you are able to disable AVG.
