Hello Steve,
I am sorry to hear about this. Please remove AVG traces completely as per the steps mentioned in this article ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ).
Then reinstall AVG Free Antivirus by following this article ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free ).
Keep us informed about the status.

I tried the first item but it would not load. Since i have already uninstalled the old free AVG Antivirus program and manually deleted any remain folders, I didn't use the second item. I did run the second suggested web page and got the same error code as listed in my original submittal.

Help?
Thanks....Steve

I tried to load the AVG Remover but it would not load.
Please note:  This is a Windows XP Professional SP3 setup.   Do I still try to download the 32bit version as you mentioned above??   It was working fine but had to delete it to work on something else.
I hope to be able to reinstall the free AVG Antivirus again.
Thanks for your help. Trying to attach error picture.Error 0xe001f98d ...when trying to reinstall free AVG Antivirus on Windows XP Professional SP3.

Steve,
You need not use the 64 bit offline installer of AVG Free Antivirus. But please let us know whether you encounter any error message while trying to run AVG remover tool. If so, please share the screenshot of that error message to assist further.
