AVG Application not loading properly

Whenever i try to run AVGs Antivirus Free program on my laptop, the box opens, but is blank apart from the dark blue background and bar at the top. The bar at the top has two application names overlapping and 2 different resolutions of the logo overlapping. I cannot click on 'My AVG' at the top, nor minimise or close unless i right click on the application tab on my taskbar. I have AVG PC TuneUp and this works perfectly so i do not understand what is happening. Do i need to completely uninstall? because i have tried that in the past and it just loads the same way. I am wondering if a file is missing or a file location has been altered, but i do not know for sure.

Thank you for reaching us with your concerns. Please accept my apologies with regards to the inconvenience this may have caused. I would request you to run AVG Clear tool to completely remove the traces of currently installed AVG Anti Virus and re install it.

I have just attempted to do so and it tells me that there is no active AVG product, even though i clearly still have the AVG Antivirus Free application... im lost

Colin,
It must be AVG Remover tool that you are running. It detects only if you have earlier version than 2017. Please run the tool anyway once and proceed with the instructions.
