Hi, I've just updated Windows 10 & now get the message from AVG that is C:\Windows\SysWOW64\SearchProtocolHost.exe is a virus. Microsoft chat it isn't.

So who is right please?

(I've moved it to quarantine at present.)
Thanks in advance.

I also received this error this morning.  I asked to have the threat moved to the Quaratine and it stalled (screen shot).  Green progress bar still moving back and forth but for 20 minutes nothing.  I went to the directory SysWOW64 and found the file was not listed.  I search the Internet and found out it is a Windows indexing file.  What happens now if AVG has removed it?

The same issue happened to me right now. Could you please advise if this file is a real threat and should be quarantined or not. Thanks..

Nenad,

This seems to be a false detection. If you are a paid user of AVG, please contact our technical support team ( https://support.avg.com/support_contact_form?l=en ) to further assist you with it.

Hi folks,
AVG's new version does not describe this as a virus, so it's been taken out of quarantine, whether by AVG's support person or the new version itself, I'm not sure.

Anyway, indexing is now back- yay!
