Problem: The "Friends" screen does not allow me to add/edit new network ranges.
Why do I need new ranges? To avoid IP conflicts when using VPN to office network I use a different range as what the office does.
Story: I can log onto the VPN, but I cannot access or RDP into any devices. The device is not assigned a default gateway. The computer is also unable to access the internet. I have changed the networks to "private". Other computers on my home network that are not running AVG does not have this problem. I was hoping to add the office IP range to the list so that that can maybe solve this very annoying issue
I would like to inform you that you cannot manually add Friends networks in the Firewall settings. To allow the RDP, please open AVG Internet Security dashboard, click on "Menu-->Settings-->Components-->Firewall-->Customize" -To the right of "Policies" scroll down to click on "System Rules" -Enable the option for "Windows file sharing and printing", "allow remote desktop connection" and the last entry "Enable stealth mode".
If the issue persists, please let me know I will help you to get in touch with the remote team to resolve the issue.
I understand your concern. I have forwarded the case to the senior team for getting suggestions. Keep checking this post to know about the status. Your patience is much appreciated.

The last entry is "Allow stealth mode for public networks" not "Enable stealth mode".
The good news is that the "Allow stealth mode for public networks" was the missing link and I can now RDP.
Thank you for being patient.
