Google chrome not loading

I recently installed PC Tune Up and now cannot load Google Chrome. Are these two things related? I've uninstalled Chrome and re-installed it. I am definitely connected to the internet

Hi Gabrielle,

We will help you to get this issue resolved.

We would like to know more about this issue. What happens when you try to open Google chrome? Does it open? or It doesn't load when you try to browse?

If the Chrome browser opens and doesn't load the website then share us the screenshot of the browser window to check and assist you further.

In case, if the Chrome application itself doesn't load then it should be related to AVG PC TuneUp.

Thanks,
Vishnu Vardan

Hello Vishnu, thank you for your reply.
This is what I have tried to do to resolve my problem:

My computer system is Windows 10 and has been for quite a while
When I first 'fire up' my computer the 'Welcome' scene has been showing the same photo since this problem started a few days ago with no details (Like what you see? etc) After entering my password I get to my home page.
When I click on the 'Chrome' icon the computer tries to load it but can't/won't. At the top left hand corner is a 'sad face'. The address line reads: www.google.com/ig/redirectdomain?brand=LENN&bmod=LENN

Things I have done to try and resolve the problem:
- I have tried to set Google Chrome as my preferred browser (not Microsoft Edge which is what it defaults to)
- I have uninstalled Google Chrome and reinstalled it (several times) - made no difference
- I have right clicked the AVG PC Tune Up and have gone through 'Troubleshoot Compatibility'
- I have also gone down other Troubleshooting Compatibility ways, all to no avail.
- I have gone into 'Window Defender Security Centre' to see if it is blocking Google Chrome - it isn't.

I am definitely connected to the internet - I can access my emails via Microsoft Edge, but this is such a roundabout way of doing things, and besides I don't want to go through M Edge, I want to use Google Chrome!

I am not very computer literate and am at a loss to know what to do next, can you please help me.

Thank you for the information Gabrielle,
We will do our best to assist you. Please open AVG PC TuneUp > SpeedUp > "Background and startup programs" > scroll down > look for sleeping programs > check if Google Chrome is listed there. If yes, please Awake the Google Chrome and check if it's working.
Regards,
Alok.

Experts,

I tried the AVG TuneUp and wasn't there.  Any Advice for non-loading chrome pages.
All my other browsers work fine.

Thanks in advance

Hello Troy,

We're happy to help.
Is the issue started after used AVG TuneUp?
Is the issue persists with all website or any particular website?

Please check whether Google Chrome is in sleep mode. Open AVG TuneUp > SpeedUp > "Background and startup programs" > scroll down > look for sleeping programs > check if Google Chrome is listed there. If yes, please awake the Google Chrome and check if it's working.
Keep us updated.

I think it is more AVG related versus just TuneUp since it's appears to be blocked and it isn't sleeping.
