AVG interrupts ebay sign-in, reports JS:Redirector-BKM

Starting yesterday (Nov. 16, 2018), AVG interrupts ebay sign-in attempts, from several different sign-in links. It reports JS:Redirector-BKM. I checked the URL (of one of the links) at VirusTotal.com, which says it is clean.

I see that ebay users have had this issue periodically over the last year. Some reported it again yesterday.

What to do?

Thank you.

Hello Warren,

This shouldn't happen with the latest version of AVG.
Open AVG Antivirus/Internet Security interface.
Click on "Menu-->Settings-->Update. Perform both program and virus definitions update and check the status.
Thank you.

Thank you for the information.
Are you getting this only when you visit eBay from Firefox or on all of the browsers?

Hello Doug,

Thank you for the screenshot. You can add eBay site to the exception list to access it without any issues. It's a temporary solution and we need log files to escalate the case with our senior team.
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> General -> Exception -> add the URL to the exception list.
Make sure that you have latest version of AVG 18.8.
Please contact our technical support team: https://support.avg.com/support_contact_form?l=en via online chat to assist you further.

I am having the exact same issue. I need to know if it is safe to log in to my ebay or will my password be stolen if I do?

Alright Chrome users. I went into the customize and control Google Chrome thing at the top right of my screen. Went to tools, then setting, then clicked on advanced at the bottom. hit the clear browser history, set it for all time and cleared everything in all 3 categories. tried to log in before this and got the same message. once I cleared it all I tried again and no message popped up.
Hope this works for everyone.

Hello Doug and Chad,

We have checked with our senior team and this could be a false positive.

Glad to inform you that this was fixed and please restart your web browser to save the changes made.

Keep us posted here.

It looks like your correction of the false positive has fixed the problem.
At least, I am now able to sign in, without being flagged.
Hopefully, that resolves the issue for everyone.
Thank you.
