win32/heri

I keep receiving Win32/Heri warnings via AVG, which I then follow the instructions and AVG says that they have been dealt with, but they pop up frequently.

I have tried to understand what win32/heri is, but that seems rather confusing with some sites saying it is not a virus at all but AVG can even flag up Google Chrome or some games as malware using the win32/heri warning. If it is malware, what does it do?  Is there anyway it can affect my emails, such that people get undeliverable messages when they send emails to my account (this is happening and I cannot work out the cause - posted about this in the general section).

Is there  a way to do something so that these do not show up constantly (it can pop up five times in a row, and happens not quite on a daily basis, but quite frequently).

Thanks

David

Hello David,

We will check and clarify this for you.

Could you share the screenshot of the threat pop-up you received with full path details to assist you further?

Is this pop-up occurs randomly or it happens when you browse?

Keep us posted here.

Thank you for the screenshot.
This should be a false detection as you are still using the old version of AVG.
Hence, it is necessary for us to perform a advanced virus scan and if no threats found, we can proceed to remove the old version and install the latest one.
