Failed login using correct info

OK, I accept that Google play makes it difficult to set up AVG Ultimate on an Android phone. However, one cannot Google for the problem og AVG not accepting a valid account email and password.
What is wrong? Does AVG expect a different password to activate a fully paid and up to date account when doing this on an Android device?

Hello Michael,

We will help you with the activation.

You have an active subscription of AVG Ultimate(includes both AVG Pro and AVG Cleaner) valid till September 29, 2019.

Did you follow the below steps to activate your products?

- Please download AVG AntiVirus free and AVG Cleaner from your Google playstore.
- Open AVG antivirus app/AVG cleaner and tap Upgrade on the main screen.
- Tap the overflow menu (three dots) icon in the top-right corner and select Login.
- Enter My Account credentials.

If yes, share the screenshot of the error page you received to assist you further. You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

The problem is ONLY on my Android phone (and I don't know how to make a screen shot of that screen)

However, I get the Red dot with a white "X" with "Login Failed" below that.  I also get a white popup box which says: "CONNECTION  Check your login details and try again"
No matter how many times I try, I get the same results.  When I try on the AVG website (on my phone or laptop) using the same login email and password, I can log in just fine.  I even typed in the password as opposed to using the "remembered" password (saved on my browser).
Thank you
Michael

Issue reported might be with recent updates or temporary server error. Refer the steps listed below to reset communication between the device and the portal:

1) Uninstall all AVG apps installed in your device. To uninstall the AVG AntiVirus just follow these steps:

- go to your mobile device´s settings
- go to "Security"
- go to "Device administrators"
- uncheck/deactivate the "AVG AntiVirus"
- now go back to device´s settings
- go to "Apps" or "Application manager" (depends on the Android version)
- pick "AVG AntiVirus"
- uninstall "AVG AntiVirus.

Repeat this procedure to uninstall any other AVG app.

2) Once you uninstall all AVG apps, make sure the "AVG" account located in your "device´s settings - Accounts" disappeared. (this may differ based on the Android OS version and device type, examples: Settings - Cloud and Accounts - Accounts or Settings - Accounts)

3) Re-install AVG apps and sign in to get issue resolved.
