Desktop Has Disappeared!

HELP......Yesterday i downloaded AVG antivirus and this morning when i turned on my laptop i have messages saying widows is no longer working and all of my desktop has gone....i'm left with just a black screen....no icons, nothing! Im trying to work from home and this is a total nightmare....please can someone tell me how to get things back to how they were!

Ok....so again.......i cant submit a photo as i cant save one to my desktop because i dont have a desktop....the message reads as follows 'AN UNAUTHORISED CHANGE WAS MADE TO WINDOWS'....it then eventually after several attempts, including logging me off...lets me on line BUT i have only a black screen where my desktop was...i have no icons and no way of accessing anything. Why do i think its AVG....i downloaded the free anti virus then loggged off....when i logged on this morning ...NOTHING! plus there are comments re this happeing to others....i really need your support to get this sorted ASAP ....

If I may ask, how do you suspect that AVG has caused this issue?

I request you to share the image of the PC interface to check further.

Hi......i cant submit a screenshot as i am unable to save anything to my desktop because i dont have one plus i cant log onto this community on my phone even though i can log onto AVG, password not recognised! .....i really need support to get this rectified. Re you question why i thionk it is AVG as to why i am having this issue.....the last thing i did yesteday was download the free antivirus....when i logged on this morning....nothing....just an error message stating that 'AN UNAUTHORISED CHANGE WA MADE TO WINDOWS' ...... i need to get my desktop back! PLUS i keep getting a small box on my screen re AVG deals.....! PLEASE HELP.....

In this case, I kindly request you to capture your laptop's screen with your phone and send it to us.
You can post the captured image here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
And I would also like to know your Operating System.
