Is icarus.exe part of an AVG program or is it a threat

Icarus.exe is actually related to the recent AVG TuneUp 20.1 version.
It is legitimate file and you shouldn't experience any issues due to it.

what does Icarus means? initial look on the file, its suspecious.. its eating up my process

We understand your concern.

As mentioned before, Icarus.exe is a legitimate file from AVG which happen to appear after the recent update. It is not a malware and  it is safe.

When AVG product(s) are launched, icarus.exe checks for any available update of the product launched, is it's intended behavior.
