Hi Andy,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
Upon checking our records, we see that you've also posted another query regarding resources.
Please clarify whether the operating system on your computer is Windows 10.
Also, share us the screenshots of the task manager that shows the CPU, memory consumption by AVG & the message on Edge for better clarity.

I must add, this isn't what i hoped for from my system, not only is it extremely frustrating but every ttime i click on a new link on this webage it opens a new window and infoms me that  i have to log in again. Not helpful.

Thank you for the screenshot.

Let us disable the AVG and check for the issue again.

Refer this article disabling the AVG https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus

AVG will run at the background to enable continuous protection to your computer. We request you to restart the computer and check for usage.

Keep us posted.

IT WORKS FINE WHEN AVG IS DISABLED, WHICH IS MORE THAN CAN BE SAID FOR THIS RUBBISH. CONSTANT DEMAND TO LOG IN, NO SEARCH FUNCTIONALITY, NO COMMUNICATIONS. VERY POOR

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, Andrew
I request you to enable the 'Internet Sharing Mode' in the Enhanced Firewall settings.
AVG >> Menu >> Settings >> Full Protection >> Enhanced Firewall
Tick the check box and let us know if you are able to access the internet.

NO. IT'S REVERTED TO SAME AS BEFORE - "INTERNET ACCESS IS BLOCKED"
