uninstall AVG

how do I un-install AVG from my MAC for ever ?
I no longer need it and would like to take it off my system
I can't because it's always turned on and no where can I go to turn it off

Uninstalling AVG AntiVirus FREE/ AVG Internet Security

To remove the traces of the AVG Internet Security, please follow the below steps,
1. Open Finder
2. In menubar select Go > Go to Folder...
3. Type /Library/Application Support/ and hit the enter key
4. Locate and delete the AVGAntivirus/Secure VPN folder
5. Reboot the computer.
