AVG has become terrible

Is it me (ok...could be) or have AVG of late become impossibly difficult to communicate with...no email method, a range of different contact numbers, online help constantly just "loading", a focus on "up-selling" when having a problem. I have used AVG for many (possibly 14) years and never has my ability to contact been worse. Technical support is easier to contact, but customer account support (except for doing all the work online) is pretty bad.
Just my view....leading me to almost certainly considering other options as my subscriptions come up for renewal.
