Lost photos after using AVG Cleaner

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I used the AVG cleaner yesterday and I've now discovered that I've lost multiple files including camera, screenshots, music. I've checked the recycle bin and the files app. I know its absolutely ridiculous and I should have backed up my stuff. I don't know what to do. I had no inkling something as simple as running this supposedly safe app would lead to my phone being wiped. Please, please tell me there is something I can do. I have a samsung S22 if that makes any difference.

Hello,

We sincerely apologize for the distress caused by the deletion of your photos during a Quick Clean performed by AVG Cleaner. We understand how valuable these memories are to you, and we empathize with your frustration.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to restore items that are deleted during a Quick Clean. We recommend using caution when using this feature and reviewing the items selected for deletion under Files. Here are some steps you can take to prevent the unintentional deletion of important files in the future:

1. Untick any item types that you do not want AVG to process when you run the Quick Clean.
2. Tap the down arrow next to an item type to view specific items on your device.
3. Untick specific items to ensure they will not be processed when you run the Quick Clean.

While we understand that this may not resolve the immediate issue, we hope these steps will help prevent similar incidents in the future. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to assist you in any way we can. Thank you for the understanding.

I did not elect to delete any files. To anyone reading, I've since found out this is a long standing and not uncommon issue that AVG is well aware of and has not bothered to resolve. It is going to cost me a lot of money to try to recover my data and I'm now in the process of doing so. I've lost trust in this company.

We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you and understand your frustration and really sorry for your experience with us. This is not what we expect from our valuable customer.
