Multiple instances of AVG Secure Browser

Why is it that when I have 3 tabs open in AVG Secure Browser, there are 17 instances of that task running on my system?

The process running behind are necessary for the AVG to perform its purpose.
Are you experiencing slowness due that?
Does the consumption is 'too high' in the task manager?

The 17 processes are consuming over 600MB of memory causing the PC to do more memory swaps and therefore causing the PC to run sluggish.

Its look like AVG Secure Browser does not start properly in your PC. Please reinstall AVG Secure Browser and check the memory usage in task manager. 

You can uninstall AVG Secure Browser from Control Panel. Then, download and install AVG Secure Browser from this link. (https://www.avg.com/en-gb/download-thank-you.php?product=SBR)
