AVG Blocks all Internet for all Programs when enabled

AVG Blocks all Internet for all Programs when enabled.
Very frustrating.
When I turn off protection, the internet comes back.

This just started this morning, up until now I have had no issues

Hello Greg.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We'd request you to uninstall AVG using clear tool and install it again. Click the links below for instructions:

Uninstalling AVG AntiVirus using AVG Clear (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Uninstall-AVG-software-Clear-Remover)

i too have exactly the same issue as of this morning (4th Feb 2021). If I disable protection internet browsing works, if not, DNS probe failure. Internet connect is fine, just no DNS even though the ipconfig /all shows the DNS servers for the adapter. I have just uninstalled AVG and reinstalled it, and the problem is back. Same as before. Disable it and things work. Enable protection and no internet browsing. Please help.
I'm paying for the internet security / VPN packages

We certainly understand this is a disruption, Mark.
Could you try reinstalling AVG as requested above and let us know the result?
Matthew BlackburnMatthew Blackburn
Yes I have the same issue as Avinash and Mark.  Using the AVG Clear to remove AVG and then reinstalling gives same result.  You guys need to roll out a patch or rollback to previous update this makes AVG useless.

Hey Avinash... let me quote Mark, you know the person you told to uninstall and reinstall and get back to you? He said "I have just uninstalled AVG and reinstalled it, and the problem is back. Same as before. Disable it and things work. Enable protection and no internet browsing. Please help. " Your answer was unhelpful and proved you didn't even read his request.

Avinash,

I uninstalled using cleaner and reinstalled.  Still no internet.  Have NEVER used AVAST yet I am seeing ipm-provider.ff.avast.com as a secondary tab when I launch chrome after reinstalling....

I have the same issue. I haved tried uninstalling manually and using avg clear and reinstalling. It is not resolving the issue.

I have the same issue, and have been fighting it all day.  Uninstalling and reinstalling did squat.  The actual problem is the Remote Access Shield.  With that disabled you can have the rest of AVG working, but I hardly think turning off ANY pary of your anti-virus should be a long term solution.  AVG you all need to get on to fixing this.

I've spent 2 hrs working on this sudden problem.  The solution I found was to turn off the WEB SHEILD.  Once I did that everything started working again.

I am currently having the same issue on both my machines, reinstalled multiple times only way to get dns service working is to disable the web Shield. This all just happend today whats going on AVG ?

Hello All,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
This is a known issue which has already been reported to our developers and they are working on a fix. This will be fixed in few hours. So, we request to wait for sometime and try to update the program.
Rest assured, it is just the user interface and Internet sync having the issue but all shields are actively protecting your PC in background. Appreciate your understanding and patience.

In the meantime, you can disable web shield component and access the Internet connection on the same PC. once you receive the update for AVG program, you can update and resolve this issue.
Thank you for the understanding.

I still have the same problem reported by other users a few months ago. if I deactivate the web form, the opening of the web pages will work properly again. I have several times uninstalled and reinstalled AVG INTERNET SECURITY using AVG CLEAR but the result does not change. How can I solve?

I am having the same problem as all the others above, when I deactivate my VPN it seems to work.  I am also having problems with internet disabling.  I find this very annoying and frustrating surely something can be done to make the process more smoothly.

Is there a patch or upgrade that I haven't received?  There seems to be a problem when there is an upgrade.

Hi, I'm using AVG from more than 15 years... Here nothing to do with uninstalling, cleaning, wtfing.. it's just the security parameters of AVG than has been growing too much in the last six month... The programmers of AVG would have more attention with this!!!.... and would testing more deep the updates before launch over our necks.. ......  sorry 'bout my english but sono incazzato marcio... :(
Sincerely
Pol.
