Adblock

Hey, my adblock for the avg secure browser just disappeared yesterday anyone have any ideas as to why and how I can get it back? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the browser but the adblock was still gone I checked in the extensions and it was not there at all.

Please let us know the version of Secure browser & share us the screenshot of Security & Privacy center to check the available features.
To check the version : Open Secure brower - Menu (3 dots) - Help & About - About.

The AdBlock option has disappeared from my settings as well.

As we had mentioned earlier, we need to collect the diagnostic data from your computer to further investigate this issue.
In order to do that, we'd have to offer you remote assistance via email, so that our remote technician can collect the required logs & escalate your case to our higher level of support.
Since you are not the author of this post, we don't have access to your account information.
Hence, we request you to write back to us in your own/new post so that we can access your account information and assist you further via email.

I understand that, what I'm asking is do you not know if this a universal issue & wouldn't two different users having the same issue make that to be the case so a universal solution could be had, like some firmware update or something?

However, we'd like to inform you that we've not received widespread reports of this particular issue. 
We recommend you to write back to us in a new post, so that we can send you an email with detailed instructions to share us the diagnostic logs from your computer. Once we obtain the daignostic data from you, our concerned team will analyze the data & get back to you via email.

I updated my AVG browser just a little bit ago and also no longer have adblock. Since you are asking for multiple threads/posts on the subject instead of having it all consolidated in one, I am off to repost the same issue. :)

Exact same thing happened to me.  I have two computers, both running AVG Ultimate and AVG Secure browser.  A few days ago Adblock disappears on my desktop, and about 10 minutes ago on my laptop.  I did try uninstalling and reinstalling AVG Secure browser on my desktop computer, but this made no difference.  I suspect someone has found a way to disable the application.

Hello to everyone who participated in this AVG forum. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.

This recent reported disruption of the AdBlock feature being removed from AVG Secure Browser, is a known disruption, and was temporarily removed by our development team due to necessary browser maintenance.

To be assured, this is a temporary disruption, and the AdBlock feature is expected to be automatically reintroduced to the browser, likely next week.

What concerns me has my browser, which is part of the antivirus package been hacked? Perhaps by YouTube or Google. Regardless I am very concerned that something has removed my ad blocker and I don't recall seeing any update or other activity by AVG just prior. 

So I am very concerned and want to know why this feature has failed in such a way that seems like an attack on the browser.

Does anyone else feel the same or am I being paranoid?

We've received an update from our development team regarding Adblock.
Initially, you can be rest assured that your computer would be protected against emerging threats with AVG installed on it.
We’ve temporarily removed Adblock from AVG users in few regions due to some configuration refactoring. We will be automatically adding it back soon.
