Appreciate your efforts in identify the component, Rob.
We can try adding an application rule for the VPN, as mentioned in this article to check if it helps.
Also, ensure that the newly created packet rule is moved to the top of the list.

Hi Dinesh,

thank you for your reply. I do not receive any error messages but when I start the VPN, I loose the connection to the wifi. This does not happen when I stop AVG to run on my laptop - by setting the protection of AVG off . Indeed, when AVG is off, I am able to work with the VPN on. Could you please help me with this?

Best,
Rob

Hi Dinesh,

I have disabled the AVG's componets one by one and as I thought is the firewall of AVG that prevents me to work when I use the VPN. I have changed the Packet rules by setting 'Internet Out', 'Friends  In' and 'Deafult rule' to ALLOW but it did not chnage anything, I am still not able to launch the VPN without loosing my internet connection. Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Roberto

Thank you, I have followed the instruction of the article that you suggested. I have had to allow In and Out this exe file 'nsload.exe'.

Thanks again,
Rob
