AVG Anti spam add-on in MS Outlook

The AVG anti-spam add on for Microsoft Outlook in AVG Internet Security is now worse then useless.  It traps NOTHING, it marks NOTHING as Spam and it sends NOTHING to the Junk mail folder.
What on earth is the point of having it?
It used to be worthwhile and very reliable but now it is totally pointless.
Why has this retrograde step been taken?
I don't see why I should have to go through each message and add it to a black list - especially as most spam changes the 'from' e-mail address every time they send the same thing out the next day.
When will a decent anti-spam add-on be reinstated?

Hello Graham,

We regret to inform you that the Anti-Spam feature has been discontinued from the AVG Internet Security. We’re sorry if this update left you frustrated.
We strive to provide the best protection possible, and our research & comprehensive review of the feature showed that Anti-Spam wasn’t offering enough value to our customers.
Given that email providers nowadays provide strong embedded anti-spam filters, we decided to focus our development efforts on adding value in other areas.
Recently we introduced new features like Remote Access Shield, Password Protection, improved botnet protection; etc.
We think these new features along with ongoing improvements to our other many features provide advanced protection for our customers.
