AVG Processes ?

I've been using AVG Internet Security for years as a paid customer, and I have to say I'm growing weary constantly keeping it under control in my network.  I've ever only needed two services running:

AVG Antivirus            "C:\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus\AVGSvc.exe" /runassvc
AVG Firewall Service  "C:\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus\afwServ.exe"

But now there's a new service recently revealed:

AVG Tools                "C:\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus\avgToolsSvc.exe" /runassvc

I'm not getting transparency from Support, so I wanted to post on here to see wtf is up.  There's no new TOOLS option(s) in the product.  What tools?  Tools like the ever so intrusive "Fake Website Shield" feature; that seems like it would make sense to enable, but actually hijacks your DNS.  I already have my browser and isp to worrry about let alone AVG.  Open to suggestions.

Hi Robert,

This isn't the experience we want you to have. We'd like to look into this & clarify.
Please let us know the operating system of your computer & share us the screenshot of page that shows the processes about which you're concerned.

Windows 7 Ultimate (build 7601 SP1)
AVG Software Version 20.8.3147 (build 20.8.5684.602)
AVG Virus Def Version 201031-2
AVG UI Version 1.0.578

I did share the process about which I'm concerned.  In the past there have only been two processes related to the software (AVGSvc.exe and afwServ.exe).  After a recent update, there is a new process that isn't transparent what it is (avgToolsSvc.exe).

But this is the exact thing Support does to me.  All I want is an explanation of what that process' function is.  My system is not broken, so a re-install isn't going to help.  That's why I wanted to post to the community.  Hopefully someone will read, and understand what I am asking.

Hello Robert. Thank you for your patience and I apologize for the delayed response. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.

Specific to your concern, avgToolsSvc.exe, is a recent service that is associated to AVG version 20.8. To clarify, this is the intended behavior of the program.

The purpose of the service, simply summarized, is to separate non security components (i.e. gaming mode, shredder, data scan, etc.), from the actual security component.

I trust this information and explanation help clarify your concern. Regards, Shawn
