Wireguard / Mimic / Open VPN

Hello

What is the difference between Wireguard, Mimic and Open VPN?
Which option would be best to use on AVG VPN?

Hi Marion,

We're glad to help you with the info. 
Please find the below protocols that are available for Windows & Android :
Automatic (recommended): Where possible, AVG Secure VPN connects using the the OpenVPN protocol. If connection via OpenVPN fails, the application automatically switches to the Mimic protocol.
WireGuard beta: AVG Secure VPN always connects using WireGuard beta.
Mimic: AVG Secure VPN always connects using the Mimic protocol. This is useful in countries with restrictions on VPN use, where OpenVPN may be blocked.
OpenVPN: AVG Secure VPN always connects using the OpenVPN protocol.
Note : Mimic is only available on devices running Windows 10 and later. 
For MAC & iOS, the available protocols are : Automatic, IPsec & Mimic.
