AVG Internet Security is an application that helps protect your devices from viruses, malware, phishing, and other threats.
AVG Secure VPN is an application that allows you to connect to the internet via secure AVG VPN servers using an encrypted tunnel to protect your online activity from eavesdropping. 
Both aplications have different features. It is not mandatory, but recommended to have AVG Secure VPN in your device. 
AVG Secure VPN and AVG TuneUp appear in the AVG Internet Security app but require separate, paid subscriptions.
