Individual File scan/Shell Extension Scan not Reporting Results

Running AVG Free on Vista. When I run a Shell Extension Scan from the Windows Explorer Context Menu or Scan Specific Files or Folders through the AVG Console, the scan runs but the results are not reported.  "Loading data" appears in the report window but the data never loads. I have uninstalled and reinstalled AVG to no effect. This was never a problem in the past. I suspect this may have started with the appearance of ZEN.

Hello Ron.
I request you to provide us with more diagnostic information and a screenshot of the issue that you face for better understanding of the issue.
Thank you.

After any scan is started--selected files, shell extension, complete scan--there is no report at the end of the scan.  The report window looks like this:

Report Window after Scan

The window stays in the "loading data" mode indefinitely. No report or record of the scan is saved. I have done multiple scans, and the Scan Results Overview window accessed from Options menu is empty.

When I do a Shell Extension Scan, there is a popup from the tray stating that the Shell Extension Scan has started but there is no popup stating the result of the scan, which I am used to seeing in older versions of AVG.
If I start a full scan, the AVG Console shows the running total of all the files that have been scanned and the number of threats found. If I stop the scan, that information diasppears and the Report Window shows "loading data" as in the screenshot.

I am not sure what additional diagnostic data I can provide.

I tried to run AVG_SysInfo.exe in both normal and safe modes and it would not complete. The program started and the progress bar advanced.  A second window opened showing progress in taking an inventory of drivers, etc.  That finished and the window closed. The main window remained with the progress bar at about 45%.  The progress bar did not move at all in a half hour while the hour glass continued to turn.

Tried to do another uninstall and reinstall, this time uninstalling with the AVG Uninstall Utility. The uninstall utility stopped working during the uninstall. Appears that no AVG applications do what they are supposed to do on my computer.

Completed the uninstall manually, cleaned the registry, and reinstalled AVG, this time using an installer downloaded from CNET rather than the  AVG site. The AVG Free version installed does not include Zen, but the problem with getting no report after a scan is still present, as described previously.

Ron, Correct.. AVG Free Edition installation doesn't include Zen.
