Hi Guys, I have run into a problem where my AVG Admin Console won't push out my new AVG license codes to members of some groups of workstations. (Some groups did work) I'm running AVG 2013 on all workstations. I opened a telephone support case weeks ago but this has now dragged on to the point where my licenses have now expired. From the link below I notice I will not be able to push out the new licenses with the console as they have now expired and I will need some other License Update tool to do the job. Is it possible for someone to provide me access to this tool?
Hi Alan, The boiler plate response doesn't help much. It only makes it appear to other forum members that someone has responded to my message. As I said I have already opened a support case which has been escalated to level two but I am not receiving any response back from them. I have been around one of my sites which the license expired over a week ago and reinstalled all the workstations manually. I need to do the other site today (Saturday). Yes I don't work Saturday. My experience with AVG support has often been they can only solve simple documented problems. Everything else is ignored until it goes away. I'll be happy to have my expectations uplifted. David
Apologies for the lack of resolution on this issue. I've emailed you the license changing utility along with sample script in case you come across this in the future.
To change the license number before expiration and sync to stations, please follow this FAQ (applies to all AVG Admin versions):
Hi George, Thanks for the reply. I did try to change the License keys before expiration. I had even opened a telephone support case before expiration although they didn't point me to that FAQ. I went through the FAQ now out of curiosity and found that all my settings in the Admin Console are exactly as described. So I expect had I followed the FAQ I would have still ran into problems. The telephone support case is still open however their lack of response is disappointing. Thanks for the License Update Utility. I have received it and filed it away for next time if I need it.
Hi Robert, By the way I never solved it. In the end I gave up and updated every workstation by hand.
AVG support pretended the problem did not exist. Here is an extract from the the support case when they closed it with no resolution. "Our developers were not able to reproduce the issue in our testing environment and closed the bug. " I wish you better luck. David
