Latest Update to AVG CloudCare agent preventing printing on Windows 8.1
With the most recent update to the AVG CloudCare agent version 2015.0.5751 we are having most of our users that use Windows 8.1 getting printing errors such as PCL XL Error... or GE Issued Warning...
We finally found the cause of this to be the Web and Email protection, as disabling those features allowed our users to print again.
Alan, thanks for this update, We did orginally try to use the CloudCare community but when we go there, it tells us that we need to be logged into CloudCare. Once we log into cloud care, and click on the AVG community link, it takes us back to the page that says we must be logged in through Cloudcare. As you can imagine this is highly annoying. Any suggestions on how to access that part of the community?
This is a known bug with the mentioned components for which a fix will be released this week to resolve the problem with printing. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
If you wish we can send you some files to replace on affected systems to resolve this now - if so, please confirm and we'll send instructions to your login address.
Me too, printing from Windows 8.1 64-bit to a HP Laserjet M1536, I got assorted PCL XL errors, and after reinstalling different printer drivers I discovered this page, disabled AVG and the printing went back to normal, so yes please, send me updated files! Chris
Apologies for the delay - I've sent the files with instructions to your login addresses. I've also added you all to the contact list for this issue so you're informed when the build is released.
I've just tried to call you however got your answerphone. I've emailed your support@ address with the files now, let me know if you don't receive them.
Still haven't received them. It appears that the EXE file is being rejected by my SPAM filter. Can you rename the .exe to something else and I can change the extension when I receive the file?

Please send me the files as it is a major hassel to disable portions of the AV everyday just so people can print.
